JNC Helicopters is based at Virginia Airport, Durban on the east coast of South Africa. Durban’s subtropical climate provides excellent flying weather conditions throughout the year. Our base is within walking distance to the beach, golf course, health spa and various bed and breakfast accommodation(s).

Have you ever been stuck, unsure what to buy that special person for their Birthday, tired of the old boring cliché Mother and Father day gifts? Or just simply feel goodhearted? 

Here at JNC Helicopters we have the perfect solution, why not surprise them with a helicopter flying course?

We will teach you how to fly on the Robinson R22. It will take you approximately 50 hours to obtain your Private Pilot License. 

The required age to obtain an Aviation Medical Clearance Certificate, which we of course book and manage on your behalf, is 16 years+.  

For the Aviation Medical Clearance Certificate the test the following: 

• Test if you have any hearing disabilities.
• Check if you suffer from any heart diseases and or disabilities.

Once the above has been cleared and approved we will apply for a Student Pilots License for you and teach you how to do the rest. We have proven over the years that we can teach anyone to fly. Some people take a bit longer that the others but in the end you will get your wings with a little perseverance on your behalf and excellent instruction on our behalf. 

The Helicopter flight-training course is mainly based on a 'one on one' tuition. This allows us to attend to your individual specific needs and give you as much attention as required. Our Instructor(s) will give you an hour pre-flight briefing, detailing what you will be taught in the aircraft for the current lesson, then after that you will fly the Helicopter for an hour pertaining to the lesson. The above happens for 50 excercises; or lessons. 

Our school operates in a friendly, helpful atmosphere; where you are always welcome to ask questions and be part of the company as a whole.

JNC Helicopters encourages our students to be part of the Aviation team and network. Our students have access to our instructors at any time should they need to go over any problems they might be facing.

As safety is our greatest concern, we regular have safety meetings with not only our permanent staff but also with all our students to encourage them to think safety first.
